Wood briquettes constitute a prevalent form of biomass fuel. Produced from residual wood shavings and sawdust from timber processing plants through processes including crushing, drying, and compression, these briquettes possess high calorific value and density. They are commonly employed in heating appliances and industrial boilers, enjoying extensive industrial applications. As a renewable, carbon-neutral energy source, the environmental sustainability and economic viability of wood briquettes are driving rapid industry growth.

The process involves mechanically or thermally compressing loose sawdust into high-density blocks. These compressed wood briquettes facilitate transportation and storage, achieving calorific values of 3500–4500 kcal/kg. Commonly utilised as fuel, animal feed, or industrial raw materials, the production method enables rapid and efficient pelletisation.
Wood is first collected uniformly. The raw material is initially crushed into chunks using a wood crusher. A pulveriser then further breaks down the chunks into sawdust. Finally, screening separates out impurities.
The purified wood chips undergo further drying treatment. Sawdust dryers or hot air streams are commonly employed. Strict moisture control is essential, typically maintained between 8%-12%, to facilitate subsequent briquetting.
The dried raw material is compressed into wood briquettes via high-temperature, high-pressure sawdust briquetting machine. Crucially, the moisture content within the raw material is paramount. Both excessively high or low moisture levels will adversely affect the quality of the wood briquettes .
Finished wood briquettes are packaged using automated packaging machinery for convenient storage and transportation. Packaging options include cardboard boxes or double-layer plastic woven bags. Storage requires a dry, well-ventilated location, protected against pests and moisture.
